The Combios de Portugal (CP) is Portugal’s largest train and transport operator.

Services include the Alfa Pendular (fast train between north and south, top speed 220km/h - 138mph), the Intercidades (a bit slower and reaches more areas) and the Regional (goes into the regions, perfect for tourists wanting to see more of the country).

CP carried over 130 million passengers on the 2830km of railways across Portugal. They list their main priorities as the environment – they have an extensive environmental policy – and increasing and developing their high-speed services.

The tracks connect Portugal efficiently and safely both nationally and internationally. Trains are regular and run over a wide area. There are also the international trains; the Sud-Expresso and the Lusitânia Comboio Hotel night train which helps you get to Spain and France in sleepy comfort.
